Uber Give Girls Who Codes $1.2million



Uber is giving a $1.2 million  to girls who code, a non-earnings organization running to shut the gender hole in tech, as part of a multi-12 months partnership. As part of the collaboration, uber’s currently employed leader emblem officer bozoma saint john is becoming a member of the ladies who code board of directors to push for gender variety in tech.

“if i’m going to move for it, i’m going to head for it all,” saint john instructed techcrunch approximately diving into paintings at uber.

While uber released its first range report in march, the organization pledged to donate $3 million over the next 3 years to groups running on variety in tech. This $1.2 million is the primary funding uber has made as part of that dedication.

The money will assist women who code teach 60,000 more ladies technical skills. In the beyond 5 years, girls who code has reached 40,000 girls via its after school clubs and summer packages.

“we’re looking to develop this system specially in places where kids have little access,” girls who code founder and ceo reshma saujani instructed me.
