Bell Valor V-280 hellicopter |
Bell helicopters, the America aerospace producer, has just submitted the V-280 Valor to US Army's joint Multi-Role technology demonstrator (JMR-TD) phase organized for the destiny vertical lift (FVL) with a view to update the Sikorsky uh-60 Black Hawk and Boeing AH064 Apache helicopters which are in service at this moment.
The helicopter was designed to accommodate a team of four people consisting of the two pilots to move up to 14 troops. The designation V-280 comes from its cruising velocity of 280 knots , however it can reach upto the top speed of 300 knots . The Valor can go to a scope of 2,100 nautical miles by and large and has a battle range of 500 to 800 nautical miles.
The next group of helicopter comes with a flight-by-wire Flight Control System and cutting edge aeronautics. It first model specialty showed up at Bell Helicopter Amarillo Assembly Center with the enrollment N280BH on August 30. The Valor is being set up for engine tests before its maiden flight that is required to go off around September of this year.
Steve Douglass recorded a short video of the hi-tech helicopter that demonstrates the T64-GE-419 engines and gearboxes extremely vividly.
Bell gives a little understanding into the plausible Future Vertical Lift (FVL) make expressing, that
"The output shaft is connected to the drive system through a spiral level gearbox that transfers power to the fixed gearbox and propotor gearbox, which rotates on two big spherical bearings driven by a conversion actuator mechanism."
The US Army is searching for an utility helicopter and an assault helicopter, where the AV-280 will serve to carry rockets and also small UAVs.
One must concede the loftiness and mechanical headway of these technically knowledgeable helicopters. Just astounding!
